Artemesia Dance
Artemesia Dance is a recreational dance programme, started by Helen Jones in 2001, for children (adult classes are occasionally also scheduled)offering instruction in creative movement for young children, classical ballet, and contemporary dance. Classes are small with the emphasis on creativity, physical skill, musicality, and having fun.
Classes are held at the Delphi Centre in Flesherton during the Fall, Winter, and Spring.
Each August Artemesia Dance runs a Dance Arts Day Camp for boys and girls between the ages of 5 - 15 years. A staff of professional dance teachers, musicians, and visual artists, lead the children on a marvelous adventure of discovery and learning through the arts culminating in informal performances for friends and family.
Helen Jones lives in Flesherton and is a senior professional dance artist and educator. Currently Helen is on the faculty of the Dance Department at York University, the faculty of the Professional Training Programme at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre, and at Ballet Creole.
