Visiting Artist Program at the Southampton Art Gallery Start: 00:00 End: 23:59 Each month, the Southampton Art Gallery welcomes a new “Visiting Artist” to the Gallery. This is a great opportunity to experience art first hand and support emerging artists in their creative careers. Exhibits and artists rotate on a monthly basis all year long. Free Admission. They are a member society of the International Association of Pastel Societies and a sister society to Pastel Artists of Eastern Canada. Their aim is to promote public appreciation of the renaissance in dry pastel, to improve the skills of artists working in this fine art medium and to promote fellowship among pastel artists. Genealogy Workshop Start: 19:00 End: 21:00 April 10 to May 22 - Genealogy Workshop (genealogical society logo) Ann-Marie 7pm to 9pm Join us for our workshop series in partnership with the Bruce County Genealogical Society Tuesday evenings at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre. Cost is $75* for the entire series. Workshop Topics include: How to start your family history Where to find records: at home, in Archives, at Family History Centres & Online Organizing your material Roadblocks and thinking outside the box Preserving family records and photographs Publishing your genealogy Organizing a family reunion 10th Anniversary “Feast for the Eyes” Juried Art Exhibition Start: 10:00 End: 17:00 Locally Grown Creativity! Our 10th annual "Feast for the Eyes" Juried art exhibition showcases and awards artistic talent growing in our community. This show promises to not only feed your visual appetite but also feeds the soul of our community by supporting local food initiatives. Sample “tasty” treats and bid on delicious silent auction items while enjoying art created by the community and professional artists including a 10th anniversary Gallery Artist selection. Admission is free with the donation of a packet of organic vegetable seeds for the Southampton Community Garden. Adventure Talks Start: 10:00 End: 12:00 April 18 – May 9 - Adventure Talks Nancy 10am–11am Joins us for coffee Wednesday mornings as local travelers share their memories and experiences of travels to far flung regions, intermixed with films and documentaries of world travel. Members free Public $5* per presentation Proudly Presented by Hampton Court by Revera Six Week Photography Course Start: 19:00 End: 21:30 Do you have a camera, but only understand about 20 percent of what it does? Would you like to know what all those knobs and buttons mean? In this course, you will learn exactly hat your camera can (and can’t do). You’ll about colour and contrast, shooting outside and inside, blurring backgrounds, freezing action, shooting in low light, and much more.
