In the Drama Room at OSCVI, celebrate the publication of Donna Mann's second book on the younger years of Agnes Macphail. Aggie's Dream, set at Owen Sound Collegiate Institute 1906-1908 brings to life the challenges Agnes faced coming fresh from the country to a school with high standards and a complex social setting.
OSCVI's Heritage Room will be open for the occasion.
Donna Mann will read and sign copies of the book and also Aggie's Storms, which recreates Agnes's childhood in Proton Township, Grey County.

In this second book by Donna Mann, Agnes MacPhail continues to fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher. She attends Owen Sound collegiate and finds a platform from which to share her gift of speech and the confidence to speak out. This is not easy for this country girl, and the tenacity and sense of humour we see later in her adult life, is give free reign as a teenager. Author, Donna Mann will be on site at the South Grey Museum October 9 from 10:30am to 12:30pm . Copies of Aggie's Dream can be purchased at the Museum or from Brucedale Press.
