The “Women in History” exhibit at Billy Bishop Home and Museum - A National Historic Site looks at the contributions women made to the war efforts during both the First and Second World Wars.

One of the ways that Billy Bishop’s niece, Mary Worth Bishop, contributed was by joining the Canadian Women’s Army Corps in June, 1943. Mary served overseas as a stenographer and was also one of 6 women chosen to assist in the publicity work for the 5th Victory Loan drive.

Fred Haines Commemorative Exhibit
September 10 to 30

The exhibit will consist of approximately eighty-five works by Fred Haines, friend, colleague and supporter of the Group of Seven.

Splendid lyrics have been added to a simplified version of Tchaikovsky's famous score that captures the magic and fantasy of this favourite Christmas story without the dance requirement. Roles for Men, Women and Children. Come prepared with a short song to show your musical ability.
Auditions: Thurs. Sept. 9th or Fri. Sept. 10th at 7:00 p.m., Hanover Civic Theatre. Call backs Sat. Sept. 11th; read through Sun. Sept. 12th.
Successful applicants must be prepared to rehearse three times per week as this is a musical. Production dates: Dec. 9, 10, 11, 12th.
